I trolled this sunflower field for several days to figure out the best lighting during the day and found that the late afternoon allowed the sun to illuminate the sunflowers from behind. I also carefully aligned the camera to capture the greens of the field and the blue from the sky. Finally, I cropped the photo to place the flower off center - to the right - creating more flow and visual interest for the picture.
