The Truth is Out There
Project Description:
The piece I’ve entered for this category is “The Truth is Out There.” This is probably among my favorite art pieces I’ve ever created. I’ve recently started watching The X-Files, and it has quickly become one of my favorite tv shows, and I really wanted to showcase my love for it in an art piece. I used the free art program Ibis Paint X to create this piece, which took about eleven and a half hours to complete altogether. I used the default Ibis Paint brushes to draw everything. I experimented with lighting, composition, and rendering in this piece, all things that I haven’t really been super confident with in the past, and really pushed myself to create something I was super proud of. I wanted to capture the spooky but fun vibes of The X-Files, as well as the personalities of Mulder and Scully, and the compelling dynamic they share, and I hope that fans of the show will enjoy this piece. I am incredibly proud of how this piece turned out, from large details such as capturing each character’s look, to small details such as the fact that the lights from each alien space ship converge to make and “X” shape. Credit goes to the typesetters of the game Omori for creating the font I used for my watermark, which appears in the game.
