Skills USA Maryland 2024 T-shirt Design proposal

Project Description:

This is my design for the 2024 Maryland skills USA state championships t-shirt design.

When creating this design I really wanted to encapsulate Maryland as a state and the different skills, trades, and opportunity's that are represented by skills USA. I also wanted to approach it from a fun angle with the old bay parody and the fun color palette and design. I did this to appeal to the audience at skills. Teens who would want a fun t shirt to wear to represent their state at the national level and take pride in their achievement's at SkillsUSA.

The bubbles on the old bay can showcase the some of the different trade and career opportunities that students have at skills with things like STEM and the trades. The land marks represent all the different parts of Maryland students come from during the state championship with the bay bridge bring them together. The oriole represents Baltimore and that side of Maryland, while the wave represents the eastern shore of Maryland.

To create this design I used Adobe Illustrator.
