Horse Hair Don’t Care

Project Description:

It is rare to capture a pony actually looking at the camera and that is why I think this photograph is unique. While at first appearance this photo seems fun, a deeper study shows a slight look of agitation by the pony. He is also looking at the camera unapologetically. If he were human, he might be saying “Horse hair, don’t care.” Assateague ponies are beautiful to begin with, but the hair on this pony is captured in a fun, playful way. In terms of composition, there are graded levels of color in the background, with the brightest portion being in the center to accentuate the pony. Finally, the green landscape in the background provides a nice canvas for the pony to be the star of the photo.
