Entry Title:

Burn Omori!

Project Description:

My piece, Burn Omori! is inspired by the video game Omori, (created by the developer Omocat) using the characters Omori and Basil in the image, as well as a space background from the game that I imported as the background, and door sprites from the game that I used in the hearts emerging from the swirl in Omori’s head.. The piece also takes inspiration from the alternative album Burn Pygmalion!!! A Better Guide to Romance by The Scary Jokes. The piece recreates the album’s cover art, uses the same font for the text, and incorporates the themes of the album, applying them to the Omori characters. The album follows an unhealthy codependent relationship, similar to the one between Basil and Omori, and the similar themes inspired me to recreate the album cover with these characters.
